Come and see Manaraefan at Salisbury Museum demonstrating the life of Vikings and Saxons! There will be people in authentic Saxon and Viking costumes, ask them about the differences and how their clothing demonstrates their position in life! Admire the embroidery, tablet braid, jewellery and colours that display who they are. Ask them about who they are and how they came to be here. What weapons do they use and why do they have this weapon; how does it display their status and how did they learn the skill of using it? What crafts are they involved in and why is it important to be able to create clothing and decorative trims etc. How are skills passed on and at what age do you learn them? How many clothes do they have, how long do they take to make and how are the materials made. Learn about life in Saxon and Viking times and have your photo taken with someone while you put on a helmet and hold a shield and weapon of your choice!
