Event Details

Ydalir have been asked to take part in the New Mills parade and carnival. The parade starts at 12 pm and will take about 45 minutes. New Mills is fairly hilly but the route is not too difficult. There are other public groups taking part. We need to be ready to open the Living History display at 12 pm and need a few people to look after everything while other members do the parade. We have part of the public playing field to set up on. If you wish to bring living history tents and displays, this would be very welcome. There is an arena, we will supplement it with a second line of ropes as necessary. We have an arena display provisionally scheduled for 3 pm, lasting about 45 minutes. we can do arms and armour, live weapons, one-on-one and a group battle, depending on how things go. There is going to be parking nearby (at the Swizzles factory on the opposite side of the road). There are going to be food stalls and various traders on-site. An information sheet will be published once final details are known. I expect the event to end about 4.30 to 5 pm.
