The Kings House,
65 The Close,
Salisbury.
SP1 2EN
Salisbury museum has a green area at the front and rear of museum for some limited LH structures (two awnings).
The two days will be commuting daily but the museum is happy for us to store items inside overnight to avoid transportation issues.
They have a limited number of parking spaces available with permits in the Cathedral square, but some members may need to transfer to a public car park. Manaraefan will pay for parking from the museum fees.
We will be demonstrating outside museum with weapons, crafts etc and photo ops.
Please bring finished craft items and those in progress for demonstration purposes as well as weapons for display. The usual photo ops for the public will happen with helmets, shield and weapons. Tables and weapons racks will be needed for display. The museum does have a couple of suitable tables in addition to our own.
Dane axes will be able to be displayed as there is no specific time limitation to this event but we will be helping them with their archaeology festival (Archfest!).
This also applies to costumes, meaning that hangeroks can be worn.
Although the museum only has early Saxon items on display, Salisbury has a broad history within our period covering the Normans too so any costumes from 6th century to Hastings 1066 style would be appropriate to wear and discuss with the public.
Please bring your own authentic food and bowls/cups. The museum has no facilities for cooking etc. and we will be within the public gaze for the whole day as I’ve not been told of any rooms where we can go to eat (no tomatoes please).
