Arrive from 3pm Friday 31st July 2026 to set up for the show August 1st & 2nd 2026.
LH will be open from 10am – 5pm Saturday 1st and 10am – 4pm Sunday 2nd August.
The Viking Village venue is open from 9am with play sessions organised for children on the equipment in situ.
There will be two – three sessions organised by The Viking Village themselves for children and the Bar/Restaurant will be open from 12 noon each day for the public. It will close 9pm Saturday and 8pm Sunday.
Our authentic Living History Village will be fenced off from 5pm Saturday so will be closed to the public attending the bar/restaurant and we will be able to pack down and go home from 4pm Sunday.
There will be access to a plastic camping area and LH by vehicles for set up and pack down. We will park vehicles altogether in an area that will be separated from public cars.
During the day/night, the site has CCTV coverage to the building, car parks and field where we will be camping. There is a fence between the LH and plastic and the public footpath.
At the moment the site is waiting to install outside toilets so there will likely be portaloos for our use. There are toilets inside the venue but these will not be accessible when the building is finally locked up overnight.
We are able to have our usual fires in raised fireboxes but only at the 18inches height; NO fire pits please. Gas cookers for meal preparation will be allowed of course.
There is a Co-op and a Lidl in the approach road to the venue, and after hours, Vikings can book a meal /beer inside or some take away food/beer from the venue (the chef has a take-out pizza menu and there is a selection of beers, meads etc). We are welcome within the bar/restaurant provided that the village has a safety resident presence.
We will have timed arena slots for weapons show/demos, and Kiddi-Vike. Inside the venue, we will use one or two of the axe throwing cages for ‘Have a Go’ archery. There will be no archery in the outside arena as it does not allow for a public free safety zone.
The usual games run by the venue will operate during the day run by their staff.
Please separate rubbish for recycling as there are bins that we can use onsite.
Seal’s Cove Viking Village are very excited to have us along and cannot wait to see what we will do. They will be advertising the event in the local area and to holiday campsites etc. around the Bridport area. They also welcome dogs (adhering to usual Vike rules) in the outside area and meadow, not inside the bar/restaurant.
