(⚔️ The Great Norse Gathering ⚔️ A Family Viking Festival Supporting Parkinson’s - https://www.facebook.com/events/1207422838256679/)
It is a one day show on Saturday 8th August from 10am to 6pm.
We have been asked to have a village showing crafts, weapons, story telling (if possible) and interacting with the public. An arena with Show and Tell, Shield wall fighting, one on ones and Kiddie Vike. Missiles are possible at this event.
We have the possibility of using the local story that Sweyne Forkbeard was in the area .....
We can arrive on Friday 7th August after 1pm and can leave the site on Sunday 9th August before 11am.
There will be a bar on the Saturday night until around 8 or 9pm, there will also be a food vendor (although nothing substantial).
Our LH will next to the public paying campsite, our plastic camp will be a part of the public paying campsite (OK for tents and vans). We will be able to get vehicles close to LH for unloading and loading, vehicles will then be in our plasti area.
We will have full use of the campsite facilities:
- Small shop with basic items, food, drink (non-alcoholic)
- Toilets
- Showers
- Laundry and Washing Up facilities
- Bins
- Chemical Toilet Waste facility
- Water points
Rules of the campsite:
- Dogs allowed but must be on leads at all times when in the campsite.
- No wood fires (except in LH and subject to Vike rules), all fires to be extinguished by 10pm
- BBQs permitted if off the ground
- No noise after 11pm - it is a family campsite
There is a fish and chip shop about 5 mins by car as well as a convivence store next to it. Otherwise that is about it for local shops/takeaways – supermarkets are closer to Swansea.
