Westencynn’s annual show in the Saxon village at Wildwood Escot, Devon. We will populate the Anglo-Saxon village, demonstrating period crafts and skills, with fighting displays in the arena. People from other groups are very welcome - please let us know if you’re planning to come so we have an idea of numbers, and can plan space allocation. We cannot offer a payout for visiting groups. Important things to note: • Very strictly NO DOGS as the site is a registered zoo. • We cannot sleep in the Saxon village/living history area. The site has 4 large yurts with bunk beds which will be available for us to stay in. The yurt field also has plenty of space for plastic camping with parking nearby for cars and vans. There is an undercover kitchen area with fridge, microwave, hobs, washing up facilities, toilets and showers. Space is somewhat limited so if you’re bringing LH/a display or have particular space needs, let us know so we can plan layout. Please remember we cannot sleep in LH/the village so plan to sleep in the yurts or bring separate plastic camping. There are some permanent fire places and we can take our own fire boxes. Some firewood is usually available but if you’re planning a fire, recommend bringing your own just in case. Parking is on the grass near the yurts. There is a café onsite that’s open during the day. The nearest shops are the Tescos in Honiton or Cullompton, about 10-25 mins drive away.
